Type Locality and Naming

The type section lies at Maichapai of the Longjiang River, Longmen County, Guangdong. It was named by the compiling group for Regional Geology of Guangdong Province in 1988.


Lithology and Thickness

Sandstone to Claystone. Light-gray, light yellow and purple-red sandstone, siltstone and shale, intercalated with calcareous shale and siltstone, and containing minor fine-grained gravel in the basal sandstone. It is 96−553 m thick, but varying greatly from place to place: about 500 m around Longmen, 150 m along Huiyang and Bao’an, and 290 m around Huaxian County.
